During the summer our faces get all sweaty which acts as a natural highlight. I love a good glowy and dewy look during the summer days, it's super easy to achieve with the help of sweat & good products.
I don't usually wear foundation during the summer because it feels so much better when there isn't an extra layer of makeup on my face.
I prep my skin with two of my favorite products Weleda Skin Food Moisturizer and Tatcha Skin Mist. I tap tiny little dots of Skin Food all over my face and blend evenly with a damp beauty blender. This helps hydrate the skin and enhances the glow. After the moisturizer is evenly blended, I sprits a bit of Tatcha Mist all over my face. This mist helps makeup apply seamlessly onto the skin.
I also use a hydrating eye stick by the brand The SAEM, I picked this little guy up at CVS. When you apply it to the under eye there is a cooling effect, I enjoy it.
lovely finish made in japan
After I'm done misting I conceal. I loved the Tarte Shape Tape concealer because it's full coverage and blends beautifully BUT it's super dehydrating so I don't use it anymore. Now I use Too Faced Born This Way in the shade Mocha. It matches my skin tone perfectly, full coverage, and it doesn't crease. I apply the concealer in a half circle directly under lower lash line and extend it to the bottom of my nose. I use a mini beauty blender to blend.
Once the concealing is finished I move onto the brows. The Anastasia Pomade is my go-to brow product because a little bit of this product goes a long way. I apply the pomade onto my brows with an angle brush.
Lashes - I haven't found one amazing mascara that lengthens, darkens, and fills. I believe that mascara works better when mixed/layered together. Lately I've been loving the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline collab mascara because there isn't any fallout and I don't end up having raccoon eyes by the end of the day. I apply two layers of the Gigi mascara and then I go in with Urban Decay Perversion to give the lashes a bolder look.
Blush - I started getting into blush about a month ago. The flush of color it adds to the cheeks brings the whole look together and adds liveliness to my face. I use NARS blush in the color Taj Mahal - it's burnt orange with a coppery finish- I LOVE IT. It's so beautiful and natural, it honestly looks good on any skin tone. If you like blush you should pick this one up.
Highlighter - This is my favorite part! I find when using powder highlighters it leaves a harsh dry line of shimmer on the skin. So I use creme / liquid highlighters only because it blends in easily onto my face with a hydrated smooth finish. My favorite highlighter right now is the ABH Liquid Glow in the color Perla. I pop this highlighter onto the tip of my nose, cheekbones, inner corner of my eyes, and the cupids bow. I find it easier to apply this highlighter onto the skin with fingers rather than using the beauty blender.
Lips - nude, red, or glossy. My three favorite lip looks - if I'm wearing nude it's Huda Beauty Lip Contour in the color Trendsetter, Deborah Milano lipstick color Atomic Red (the best red lipstick ever), and if my lips are glossy I just use a cheap little drugstore gloss :)
I hope you all enjoyed my simple + glowy summer makeup routine! I recommend all of these products because they've worked so well on me and are highly rated!
